"Our 4th grade daughter came home with a homework assignment to memorize part of the Declaration of Independence. Several of the mom's in the class got on the internet and found your song. It's great!" --- A mom from Powell, TN

Dear Parents,

DECLARE IT! is a privately sponsored program to help your students learn the significance and meaning of the Declaration of Independence. Our goal is to help educators reverse a troubling trend among America’s students: a majority of students lack the basic understanding of civics and government and don’t know the history of our great country.

DECLARE IT! supports Celebrate Freedom Week, a civic education program in Florida, Texas, Arkansas and Oklahoma that educates K-12 students about the significance and meaning of the Declaration of Independence. Read more about the Celebrate Freedom Week programs in these states and and view a student produced video documentary of the history of Celebrate Freedom Week in Florida.

DECLARE IT! offers links to program resources and a free sing-along song, ‘DECLARE IT! Sing-Along’ to help students learn key words of the Declaration of Independence.

Join with your students and local schools and Celebrate Freedom during Celebrate Freedom Week. You may learn something, too!

Regards,

Apparently the Truths in the Declaration of Independence Aren't so Self-evident

When Rep. Roger Wicker asked high school seniors in his Mississippi district to name some unalienable rights, he got silence.
